April 2008 "Our organization, as a result of its multiple locations, has a rotational system of settlement workers. We also have several different programs that must all work together to ensure newcomer success. Previous to the implementation of the Organization database, settlement workers were having to carry around sensitive client information from office to office. In addition, each time a client came in, if they saw a different settlement worker they would have to provide background information each time, which was inefficient and an annoyance to clients. After the database, each settlement worker had access to all client files. The system was centralized and eliminated the need for excess paper and carrying around files with private information. In addition, record keeping became far more accurate as multiple files weren't being created for the same client. Each time a client came in, regardless of who they saw, the worker would have all the client's information, reducing the need to take down the client's information over and over. Internal referrals were also much easier and so each program saw increases in participation." http://www.halton-multicultural.org
